As previously mentioned HERE, this is the second lens going up for donation.
It is a Sigma 75-200 f/2.8 - 3.5 macro zoom lens in Canon FD mount. Lens is in EX+ condition. Glass is Minty.
zoom works great, not loose at all. Aperture ring works great as well, and clicks in to all positions. There IS a slight bit of wearing on the rubber zoom grip, as probably noticeable in the pictures.

Not really much else to say. If you can get over the fact that it is a manual focus lens, and that you will have to use an adapter to mount it on a modern DSLR (with or without the infinity focus insert) then this is a fantastic lens to add to your collection. While it IS a variable aperture lens, it is still a fairly fast one, being only f/3.5 out at 200mm. Plus, as usual, the price is right. (as in cheap as free)

Yes, you heard right. FREE to a good home. as usual, we will cover shipping costs. (ConUS and Alaska ONLY as covered by USPS flat rate shipping)
If you are stationed overseas somewhere, APO ships just like a US address, and does not cost any extra so APO's are fine too.
If you are interested in this lens, post in this thread with a gear list (cameras and lenses) and how you feel you would benefit from receiving it.
if you do NOT already have a FD-ES adapter, it will NOT disqualify you from the donation. just be aware that one WILL be needed unless you have an older camera with a Canon FD mount. (we will NOT be providing one with the lens, your on your own for that one, sorry)
Persons that do not post in this thread or do not satisfy donation requirements will not be considered.
(in exchange for free stuff and shipped on our dime, all I am asking is an honest gear list and for you to put just a little thought into why you feel you need the lens. Not looking for a whole dissertation, just a little something to show you have given some thought into getting this focal length/manual lens/whatever as apposed to just asking for it because its free)

Me and the wife reserve the right to change the conditions of and/or cancel the donation at any time for any dumb old reason.

I will let this thread run for a week (less if interest is really low)

looking forward to someone giving this lens a new home and new life.

-Jason

as stated before I would love the opportunity to have this lens. I have a canon ti and am currently planning to start my first major photography project. I am hoping to shoot film and digital and this would be wonderful!

A fine day for some early morning photography then, since you got up anyway ;) Here's to a great day for you Jason.

heck no...i took the dog out and went back to bed for a few hours.

I'm still interested. I have all the lenses I need for my digital set-up, so I wouldn't use it for that. The only film cameras I've kept are my two AE-1's. I don't use them nearly as often as my digital camera, but they do get used. There are some scenes that seem to demand film. I have the 50mm lens on both of them - I got them used, but I'm assuming it was the kit lens. I would be using it for portraits or macro shots most often, so being fast would work well.

Since I wouldn't be using it all that often, if someone is going to be using it on their main set-up, I would be happy to defer to them.

Thank you! You both are very generous.

I think this lens is a much needed addition to my arsenal. With an adaptor, this would work well on my Nikon D5100. I currently have an 18-55mm kit lens, and a 50mm f/1.8 prime lens. I really need a long focal length telephoto lens for my shots of the moon, and to delve into wild life and sports photography.

Thanks a lot!

I too could really use a nice long lens, all I have now is a kit 18-55 thats pretty beat up now (already over 3 years old!) and rebel xs body!

I have a canon t4i, a speedlight 430exii and the 18-35 lens as well as a 50mm prime at the moment, had a 55-250 lens that i had to sell because of financial issues.
I would love this lens to replace it.

we decided to donate this lens to Justman1020.
seems like he has a decent setup, only lacking a tele-zoom.
congrats Justman!
seeing as how you are local, we will try and arrange a meeting. It will save you some shipping time.

I am super excited for this!! AHh
