The light seems just a wee harsh. If you are using the on-camera flash, try wrapping it with paper, a cloth, a napkin, or something similar to diffuse the light a bit and soften the glare. Try to avoid getting blood all over your camera in the process.

Now go stab yourself again and re-shoot.

Hah, thanks! It's just a bit of the iron juice.

The light seems just a wee harsh. If you are using the on-camera flash, try wrapping it with paper, a cloth, a napkin, or something similar to diffuse the light a bit and soften the glare. Try to avoid getting blood all over your camera in the process.

Now go stab yourself again and re-shoot.

No flash was used, but there *is* a room light directly above the sink. I did take some shots from different angles to get rid of the glare, but it just looked flat and dimensionless.
