I finally have some extra time and money so I've been collecting some great textures. This is one of the first ones, just ink dye drops in a water tank.

The ISO isn't actually all that high, due to the processing I put them through I really pushed pixels and in doing so made some of the noise more pronounced. Though this wasn't accidental :) I wasn't going for clean and clear

Last one's cool.. looks like a Nine Inch Nails album cover/art

+1
have you heard the album with him and his wife? How to Destroy Angels?
there is a free video on the HTDA website..spell the whole thing out...in fact....the whole album is free to download.

Flip them top for bottom, Crop off the excessive ink dispersion and you have a very compelling question. Is it a sea creature or what. A person could be compelled to examine it for quite some time. Work with these on getting just the right crop and the right angle and you have a big time winner concept I suspect. Then you just have to get a better crop/composition the first time i.e. no need for excessive cropping and thus quality loss.

Like 2-3 alot. First one has some weird haloing.

you could do some cool adstract with them. They are not doing a lot for me and i like this type of shot. The first one is out of focus i believe. two is sharp but just not grabbing me. Potential! three kinda looks like a misfire on a camera looking out of a b-52 in WWII. kinda likeing it.

Very cool. The last one is the best, IMO.

Thanks for the comments, funny to see such a wide split. The first one does have haloing, and I really have no clue why; at full size even zoomed in to 100 I can't find a color shift like that.

It is really tough shooting these things, I need a better way of dispensing the dye reliably because I just keep barely missing the focus. I could just easily increase my aperture to gain a full 1ft of focus but then I couldn't get those neat little out of focus parts :| I'm still working on this stuff, I actually recorded mostly video as that is what I need. Once I get it up on vimeo I'm going to post a link, the video looks insane o.O
