What's new

DSLR backpack

I recently got a F-Stop Tilopa BC with the Large Pro ICU. I was kinda lucky because I found a place in the EU that actually stocked a few units after F-Stop themselves told me they can only deliver at the earliest by the end of June (I live in the EU).

To make a long story short I went online a bought the bag from the online shop and selected UPS Express delivery. The bag and ICU was delivered the next morning.

I haven't used LowePro so I can only speak for F-Stop but I really love the bag. It is just the right size. I have a body with 24-105 mounted permanently I also have the 70-200 IS II and then a 120-600mm Vivitar lens in the ICU and there are still ample space left for at least 3 more short lenses. I did a bit of trekking the other day and can't but to love it.

Perfect, by no means but for what I want to do with it just perfect. I also got the Geigerrig 2 Litter hydration bladder fitted.

Good luck in your hunt for a bag :)

I've got one of the smaller lowerpro flipsides too and they are great but do have their ups and downs. I would say they are great for travelling, as the zip up the back there are no worries about theves dipping your gear, but mine is compact. I can fit 4 lenses and two bodies in mine but that is a tight fit and other than a gorrilapod or a telescopic monopod strapped on the back there's no much more space. If you freqently change lenses it can be a pain, but it forces me to travel lightweight which can be no bad thing!

I got this bag.

Amazon.com: Black Canvas Outdoor Camera Bag/Laptop Bag Medium Backpack, whistle on CLIP (no tripod included) + Free Cosmos Cable Tie: Camera & Photo

Works great for general walk about stuff. I hold my D7000 gripped with a mounted 18-105 lens as well as two flash guns and my prime lens. I carry the tripod on the side. In all the other pockets I have my trigger and receivers, cleaning kit, extra batteries, chargers ND filters, extra sd cards, some TP if I need to go when I'm in the middle of no where, and a few other things I can't think of. That doesn't count the upper half which is more than enough room for a jumper and some water bottles and a sandwich.

here's what the camera area looks like.

I truly cannot remember the name of my current back pack having owned a number (yes I'm a gear whore) but the one thing I know is essential is that a strong and comfortable waist band is essential to average out the weight. My current bag has a side access slot that allows my camera and 70-200 to be easily retrieved and I have found that invaluable.
