If a camera lies there on youre table for a few weeks without a battery inside or the SD card. Will the camera be fine? How long can the camera lie there without a battery or SD card inside?

Depends on the expiration date imbedded in the serial number. After a full month past the date I throw my DSLR cameras out.

Longest I've let a DSLR sit without any use was 4 years.

I still have it and my daughter uses it from time to time. Still kicking.

Battery out is the best way to store long term.

You can store the SD card inside the camera if you want to.

Battery needs to be taken out. Ideally recharge it twice every year, or at least once, otherwise it might be permanently damaged and needs to be replaced.

Your 77D uses the LP-E17 battery which is Lithium Ion.

As said above store out of the camera in a cool (but not cold) environment. 15 degrees C is considered best.

It is also not recommended to store them fully charged. Studies show 40% charge to be best and never let if fully discharge.
