Dumpster Surprise

The house next door is being gutted after a fire. I spotted this yesterday. It reminds me of how I found my avatar, smiling at me from a dumpster.

That and the curb used to be the store of choice for home furnishings for college kids everywhere. LOL On our street off campus there was a stream of pickup and exchanges going on everyday.

We had to retire one of my wife's scarecrows this year. It fell apart, so we cremated it.

The green guy was about six feet tall. I took the shot on the way to breakfast. When we passed by on our way back, he had been adopted. If I had realized it could look like a lectern, I’d have made good use of it when I was teaching philosophy!

So sorry for your neighbors house fire! Hopefully in this day and age of technology they have back ups to important photos, documents?
Hubby and I had house fire after 3 yrs of marriage (1977) and lost a lot of great albums....rock and roll albums, vinyl, reel to reel, photo albums, etc...
So the youths on this site may not appreciate what they have today to save important memories... :}
But, cute photos just the same .
