Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I took these photos today as the sun was going down, 1 is my favourite because of the colours of the sky but when i zoom in there is alot of noise and its not as focused as 2. Me and my brother have a little competition every week, this weeks theme is hdr, which photo should I submit!? I really wanted the picture to colourfull and kind of pop out but not look overly surreal, did I achieve this? I took loads more photos but it got dark so quick so it wasnt easy and Id say these 2 are the best so far, id love your comments and critique :)

I do not understand why the water looks so much higher on the left in shot #1, It takes my eye away from the subject. Not your fault I am sure.

I do prefer #2.

what an awesome place, I wish I could see that in person!

I don't like the processing on either of these but #1 is far better than the other in my opinion.

I think its just the shape of the cliff Ron, I hadnt noticed it before but now that you mention it I do, Its such an old ruined castle and the cliffs are very uneven. Thanks for your comment. Im glad you liked 2, I wasnt so sure about it :)

Thanks Trever1, it is a stunning place, there are loads of ruined casltes in scotland, I plan to go back at sunrise!... What would you have done differently with the processing? .... if you dont mind me asking :)

Can't say what I would have done but it looks a bit underexposed and there's a halo around the subject. Using Photomatix? I've only played around with the software a little. Plenty of options .

yea I did use photomatix, I can look at re-editing. I hadnt realy noticed the halo effect until you mentioned it, thanks for pointing it out!

I don't like the sky in the first re edit. It's too light and blown. The sky is what really makes the second shot here.

Can you go in these ruins? Are they protected, preserved or do people have free access?

Yea you can go right in and walk around, It was too dark to get pictures inside by the time I finished shooting the outside but next time i go ill hopefully get some more photos to post! Im glad you like the castle :)

Oh I'm totally fascinated by history and love ancient ruins, I mean really! Around here the oldest buildings are not much over 100 years. I'll be watching to see what else you have to show :)
