Dynalite Closing Up

Looks like the industry has lost another player in the lighting department. Dynalite has been a well respected brand for decades and were the brand for annual report and travel shooters back in the 1980's-1990's. The change in annual report budgets and newer battery powered competition likely had a serious impact on their market share. Those who owned them new their quibbles but loved the size and weight compared to other brands.

Sad to see this. It is however not too surprising given the advances in made in China equipment over the last decade and Dynalite's seeming inability to keep itself relevant in today's web-based photo community.

Part of a larger corporate ideal that says either stick to it or let it die if certain priv. equity gets involved.
But it is sad to see yet another fall.
