What's new

e-cigs

I was a pretty light smoker (maybe 2 packs a week), so hopefully this will work.

I've quit before for like 2 years... I don't even know why I started again... As long as I don't drink too much, this seems to be working. The plan is to replace cigarettes with vapor, then eventually quit that. I figure quitting vapor will be easier than quitting smokes cold turkey. At least it's 'healthier' till then. I'm not saying that it's 'good' or anything, but it's got to be better than cigarettes, with all the extra **** you inhale with those...

I let my smokes run out, and haven't bought more yet, so far it's working. Once I have a buzz, I have a real craving for cigarettes though, and I basically have to chain smoke the vapor to keep it at bay, lol. Hopefully that will only last a week or two... I also should have probably gotten higher nic level juice...

*random thought*

Is smoking marijuana as bad as smoking cigarettes. It's still ingesting a foreign carbon but MJ doesn't have all of added carcinogens of cigs so...

I'm just wondering because I really need a drug to get on so that I can be cool, and I think that marijuana is a great start before I get into the more advanced stuff like heroine and meth.

Seriously though, I have not seen anything to indicate that pot is harmful.

I used to smoke a ton of pot - like, 10 years ago. Honestly the only reason I don't now is the slim chance that I might get tested at work. IMO - there is nothing wrong with it.

I know that when I was smoking pot, I didn't drink, at all. It just wasn't 'fun' for me. Now, I drink all the time. Which is worse?

edit
I'm sure that you thought that post was funny or something, but I don't really think it is... Either way, what I said about pot still stands, lol. You can go to the doctor and get a prescription for worse drugs.
IMO, pot is harmless...

Yeah I know, non-PC sarcasm is frowned upon, especially among white knights and those guaranteed admittance into Heaven.

Totally going for the tasteless factor and I think I nailed it. *thumbs up* :)

Seriously... The last part I blew off as sarcasm, but the first part - if you were being sarcastic, I didn't pick that up...

If you want my honest opinion, yes - pot is safer than cigarettes. No, I am not any kind of professional, and I can't back it up with anything more than my personal opinion...

You wanna know how I quit smoking pot? I just stopped one day. You wanna know how I quit cigarettes or alcohol - I haven't.

I don't do either so I wouldn't know, sorry.

I was just wondering about pot because I'm open to most things if there isn't a notice of possibly overdosing on the first intake (a la heroine), or getting terribly, terribly sick the first time (a la chewing tobacco, also gum cancer and black tongue)

Adderall is a big deal at universities mostly because it makes people so damn productive and full of "good" energy.

If you blew it off as sarcasm then why get all "well I never! I personally didn't find it funny *nose flip*" about it? It's almost like a passive-aggressive form of being offended, but w/e dude.
:/

Well, I didn't intend the 'well I never' reaction. If that's really what you got from what I wrote, it was unintentional. When I was younger, I tried a lot of drugs ... probably most of them... I regret nothing, but learned a lot and would not do a lot of it again, lol!

If you really are just wondering about pot (I somehow doubt that, lol), I say just try it. Worst case, you won't do it again. It's not even illegal in some states now... It's certainly not going to kill you or send you to the hospital like other drugs might. You might not like it, but no real harm will come to you.

If you smoke. Quit!

I quit cold turkey in the early afternoon of March 21, 2005 after smoking for 38 years. About 15 minutes after I smoked my last cigarette I had a myocardial infarction.
I was pretty much a 2 pack a day smoker for the last 20 of those years.

I celebrate 2 birthdays every year now. My regular b'day September 27, and March 23 rd, the day they stopped my heart for 7 hours, bypassed the clogged up plumbing, and gave me a second chance.

The nicotine cravings wound down over a 3 year period.

I told them in the hospital that I was forever after a non-smoker. They said , "Ya right. We've heard that one before." and rolled their eyes. :lmao:

I am not a smoker, but was involved in a research on tobacco users of all kinds, interviewed about 30 of them (in their homes).

After learning about everything(as much as I can, from behaviors, sensations to future policy possibilities and psychological implications) on tobacco and its users' behaviors and experience, my conclusion is, smokers never really quit.
We met a lot of smokers who would say,"I quit before, for 5 years I never touched a cig...." And yet they are back to smoking. As most of cig users would know, smoking turns into a culture, and in order to remain cig-clean, one has to totally remove himself from environment or influence that will trigger any thought of inhaling that puff. This means staying away from friends who smoke, stay away from places where people smoke and be with a crowd that is conscious about your attempt in quitting.

Even after 10 or so years, there will still be quitters who are fighting against the urge every time they come across the smell of cigarette.

Also, stay away from alcohol. They kept saying, there's something special with alcohol+cig combo. It just works. So drinking may very well also trigger the thought of having a cig.

I been using an ecig for over 3 years now. I only use it now when i'm at the computer and instead of using a battery i use the usb port to power it. I bought a bottle of liquid that is used to make smoke in those machines like at a theater and mix it with water. One bottle cost me 22 dollars and i could never use it all in a life time. It has no flavor but you can add flavoring if you choose to...

You can't get addicted to weed, and you also won't get sick unless you're really sensitive to smoking things.

I'd suggest a bong.

Speaking of which, why hasn't there been a "build-a-bong" workshop? Where you could design one construct it out of multiple interlocking parts with different designs and/or functions...?

Please, good sir, tell me more about this "Adderall" you speak of?
