The foreground is only a plowed field, and it was nearly dark when I took these, so the foreground was that blackened before editing.

#1 is my fav. For moi, it has the best balance of light and dark and composition/cropping. I would darken the clouds in the middle ... Just a smidgen for slightly better definition (at least on my monitor).

I will give that a try. My monitor stinks, and my brightness is never right. I normally post something here and then go look at it on my tablet.
