Finally, after 4 months I get to see the ground, even if it is only over the septic tank.

Yay! But this stuff isn't going away very quickly. We got another couple of inches of sticky snow this morning, then it turned to rain. Apparently Texas is gifting us with another weather system that will dump 2-5 inches on Sunday. And a few nights ago, the overnight thermometer went to -17C. The front and back yards have at least a foot of snow, and the snowbanks are still up to 5 ft. high. By way of comparison, same time last year I was raking the winter debris off the lawn, wearing a light jacket. Sigh. I am SO ready for spring.

No earth yet here, just rain water over thick ice where the walks and drive used to be. THe snow has a thick ice sheet underneath from the December storm and it wont let the melt water from today run underneath. But I try to look at the bright side. At least we have not seen our first mosquito yet.

I cant wait to see some earth again.

Huh.... Snow? In March? Who knew? It's 16, sunny and quite pleasant here, but I did get a little damp on my bike ride an hour or so ago during a short-lived rain shower.

John, you're tempting me to stick a virtual stick in your spokes...:grumpy:

Actually, s'ok. I have a daughter living in your neck of the woods, and I'm happy that she's not wearing winterwear and snowboots.

So enjoy the gift of nature you have. And you can come our way if/when the "big one" comes.:
