Just before midnight in the Philippines, the whole community gathered to give thanks.... oh and afterwards they set off heaps of fireworks as is their way

Thank you...OHS would have had a field day here, no safety space between fireworks and people, and you should have seen the people run when they blew up Judas, my wife gave me warning before the event so I made sure we were far from him which was hard as there was almost 1000 people packed into the church square...

in a world of perfect pictures
sometimes it is refreshing to keep the noise
back in Australia on my desktop I have the toys to remove it, but I think I will leave it as adds character rather than detracts from the scene...
it's 11.52 and I am surrounded by 1000 people
I don't care how far I have to crank it up(the iso) to get the pic

As a straight up group shot with few of the kids paying attention it isn't that great, however it is also the fact that the kids are looking all over the place that makes this such a nice image. I think it's great and do like the noise in this photo, it all just works so nicely together, and good on you for not throwing on a flash and changing this nice image into one without any feeling.
