C&C per req:
Interesting lighting, and I think you probably did acheive what I would call "edgy", BUT... you've made a HUGE compositional error. The two dark edges of the over-passes form perfect leading lines and take the viewer's eye directly to the sun at the back of the image. Since the human eye is naturally pulled toward light and away from dark, the reltatively much darker subject is almost un-noticed in the image. Had you placed him to block the sun, you would have nailed it compositionally, 'though I'm not sure that would have given you the look you want.
