Edgy Portrait

C&C per req:

Interesting lighting, and I think you probably did acheive what I would call "edgy", BUT... you've made a HUGE compositional error. The two dark edges of the over-passes form perfect leading lines and take the viewer's eye directly to the sun at the back of the image. Since the human eye is naturally pulled toward light and away from dark, the reltatively much darker subject is almost un-noticed in the image. Had you placed him to block the sun, you would have nailed it compositionally, 'though I'm not sure that would have given you the look you want.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

Placed him to block the sun...naw....bad idea....then this shot would have ROCKED!!!!!!!...and then what would there have been to C&C????

I can only agree. My eyes go straight to the sun and then it is hard to go back to the subject. But otherwise I like the style of the image.

He should have been kneeling down holding the ball up to block the sun light he was worshiping it ;)

I like this setup, but wish the undersdie of the bridge was not totally black. Everything else works for me :)
