This shot was taken on a boat trip in Alaska. I would love some honest critiques.

Nice! The framing is somewhat unconventional but it is good overall. I think I understand you wanted to get the reflection, but it isn't obvious at first glance.

I think by now, everyone knows I like my B&W with higher contrast. In this shot I think it really makes the island pop out of the scene and the rippled water is more pronounced. Just my take.

I know it is just personal preference, but I like number one better.

It just looks "moodier".

I like Ricks version better. It is crisp and when comes to the mood it is a mood of early morning calm.

I do like the higher contrast. I originally didn't blow out the contrast as much due to the detail you start to lose in the sky.
