Photos OK to edit
Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new to this forum and to photography as well. I have a few books that I'm reading and I've taken a few beginer classes. Photography is a work in progress. I'm the type of person that has to learn by hands on.

Anyway, this is a picture of a bull elk and cow this fall. I have a fairly small lens but it does the trick for right now. I felt that the weeds on the bottom were a bit of a distraction but when I left the upper part of the creek it was more of a distraction.

Any critques? Suggestions on things to work on. Books, web-sites etc. I would greatly apperciate it. I've also made a list of books from the thread on here for beginers.

Thank-you for your time.

These are nice, as far as suggestions go, honestly, get a bigger lens. A 400mm would have done ya good for sure. The last shot is my fav without question though, a little dark in the shadows, but still.

Thats a beautiful elk.

WOW. I love the third one. :)

But I saw some things that might improve it...

Perhaps a re-crop so the Elk is less centered... A slight white balance adjustment and some minor adjustment of the levels...

I did a quick edit top give you an idea what I mean...

Really the big problem with the pictures is shutter speed. You need to capture at faster than 1/640s if you want to stop movement

Wonderful scene, and excellent elk photos.
