I like 6 thru 8 the best. To me it seems 1 thru 5 are too busy. 9 is growing on me.

Petty nice set. I am sure they will like them! I agree with cnutco 6-9 are the best. #4 looks a bit under exposed.
I would really like #3 if the entire name was in the sign. I know if you zoomed out to get the whole sign the people would be too small though, so I understand why you may have left some of it out. In this case I think it would be better if you crop out the sign and leave just a bit of sky above the building. Nice job though!

I think a few of them feel a little bit touristy, with the obvious location prominence, but i guess that is ok if that location/town is something that is special to them. The first and the last one are a post that i see a lot in engagement sessions, but I feel like 90% of the time it just look like the girl is being sexually assaulted, pinned to the wall or in some other way, physically intimidated. The body language is just very strong and aggressive. I don't think most guys have the ability to pose like that and have it look romantic and lovey. I see where people are going with the pose, and I've even tried and failed before to make it work, and it just doesn't.

They both graduated from high school in 2010. MOST of my brides are UNDER 20 years old . . . I was married at 19 and have been married for 15 years we have 5 beautiful children ranging from 14 years down to 10 months old. It's defineatly a Utah norm!

I give my Brides special attention, she got 3 locations of her choice (they were both born and raised in this little town). So she has some "touristy" shots, but some great non-location specific shots as well! I try to do some trendy poses along with some traditional clean poses that can go in an announcement or in the paper. I see your point with #1, it is a bit aggressive. That last one I was more just going for a candid moment. I told them to talk about their day and I snapped some shots.

1. Looks like a quick clinche in the back garden. Can't see the point of all the buildings.
2. Better. Cheap looking blanket. Just have grass and much tighter crop on the faces which should be closer together.
3. Tourist shot, nothing to do with engagement.
4. Same as 3. Couple look grumpy. Cropped too close. Don't understand the Fox reference.
5. ????
6. Much better but fence looks industrial. Crop tighter.
7 and 8. At last.Tons better but don't understand the plastic chair.
9. This shot is about the couple in a tender moment in a leafy glade. So crop much, much tighter, just heads 6 inches apart gazing into each other's eyes and all the leafy glade stuff in out-of-focus background.

#1 is MAIN STREET in the town they both grew up in. NOT back garden.

#3 Fox is the groom (soon to be the brides) last name. Hence "Fox Est 2011" The year they are beginning their family.

#5 They wanted to make the ROCK ON hand sign . . . we did . . . then we switched up and they did the "I LOVE YOU" sign language sign.

#6 NOT a fence . . . it is a grain silo. They are on a farm/orchard.

Sometimes you don't have to get or understand the pictures for them to have siginificance to the people in them. Each of these shots have some sort of sentiment to the couple. I appreciate the technical and/or compositional critiques. Thanks for looking!
