Equipment suggestion from Canon users

Hey Schwetty ... from two wedding classes that I have taken, 6 pro wedding photog's that I talked to have the 24-70 on the FF, and the 70-200 on the crop frame.

Just throwing out an opinion and what I plan to have setup up. The 24-70 has the flash mounted on it. Occasionally changes to a 16-35 for the portraits ....

Hope this helps ....

Schwetty...

Even though I know your finincial situation doesnt really permit it at the moment, I would try to get a 70-200mm 2.8 lens. It would be the perfect focal range for weddings. From what I hear pretty much all pro wedding photographers use one of these lenses.

I am guessing you could get an IS mk I used for a very reasonable price. From my knowledge/experience the mk I has better bokeh too, which clearly has its benefits for weddings.

That one thing is honestly the only thing that I feel should be better on my IS mk II.

Remember that thread from robertwsimpson "couple of butt shots"? He was using the IS mk I for those. The bokeh in that 1st shot was simply stunning in my opinion, and significantly better than my lens is capable of.

My mk II is sharper though....

So if you really do want to do weddings I would put off buying any other lens until you get some kind of 70-200mm.
