Ever saw the mighty elephant fall? I mean, literally!

Yesterday it poured here in kolkata, and for some very strange reason I headed out to the zoo (which is far away from where I live) with my camera and an umbrella. Strange because I knew I wouldn't get any decent shot due to the poor light.

But I was rewarded with these. Ever saw an elephant slip and fall? I saw one almost slip once, and then again after a few moments, only this time it wasn't almost .
I can tell you they look very awkward falling. Although I was a bit worried at first, luckily he was okay afterwards and went out partying with his friends

I must say I really enjoyed the challenge of photography in the rain, pix's camera would have been so beneficial yesterday

It was probably the most fun I ever had in photography. I was very careful with the camera not being weatherproof and sturdy, I was using the umbrella to protect the camera and tiptoeing instead of walking properly to avoid an accidental fall like my friend here . The few people here thought I was crazy, as did the invigilator of the examination center (yeah, I had an exam to take :lmao where I reached completely drenched.

:lmao: Thanks Danny, yeah these came out pretty well for the condition. Although I did a lot of NR too but my camera get unusable post 250 ISO and these were at 6400 ISO, the first time I've ever used them

So many people get a zoo'd elephant standing, or walking, all of us, cookie cutter lined up, but I have never seen this. Only a sick minded, camera crazed maniac would take pics like these, GREAT WORK!!!! :hail:

I like it. I also think they should fix that zoo. mud, poop, slippery. then it rains and the elephant looks to be slipping on the cement, which I imagine is slicker than hell at that point.

I agree, but I doubt that's gonna happen anytime soon due to the tight budget that they run on.

Thanks David . Actually not that hard, somehow he managed to slow down his fall. At least it didn't look like a hard fall to me. But I know of instances where Rhinos and Elephants have been known to break their ribs due to their own weight, I was glad the big guy was all right
