The main issue was just that it was opt-out rathe than opt-in. I hate that approach with everything from e-mail newsletters when I buy stuff online to my bank that makes me send them a letter if I want to stop getting credit card offers. Moral of the story-regardless of your business, let your clients have control of their privacy. They like that.
