Fallen tree

[Usul]

I tried to find an interesting point of view for the photo. It seems to me that this is the best one I got.
What do you think about it?

A different point of view might give the fallen tree more prominence. Perhaps shooting from the lower trunk outward toward the ocean with a small aperture, as if the tree is reaching out to the sea.

I guess I tried the point of view you are talking about but no photo remains because I've deleted them when I was there but I don't remember.

I was wondering how it would look with the tree being set off to the side, not centered and more ocean Great colors and setting.

I love things like this. I too would have tried different shots, zoom in close ups, in the water, on the beach, lay the camera right on the trunk and shot a few of them, you know, just had a blast shooting the tree. Great shot, lots of fun.

I like the second one much more. If you could have taken the photo from a few steps back without including other things in the frame, I think that would be great as well.

This would have been a great location for a sunset/sunrise shot. The tree certainly would have been a nice foreground element to a shot like that.

The colors are beautiful though, the blue water and nice beach makes me want to take a vacation.

I made a lot of pictures of the ocean and sky but I like this one best. Pictures with foreground look better for me.

Yeah, sunset and sunrise pictures often look better but I lived at other beach and the path to this place was steep led through jungles and took a while so I couldn't back to the hotel in dark.

all pretty much good point on the thread. I do think you made a nice photo even if it could have been better. They could all be a little better. When someone sees a photo already done. They are looking in hindsight. It is already done. Hindsight is 20/20 so the saying goes.
