What's new

Family photos for a friend for sharing (C&C Welcome if you wish)

Very good pics. No criticisms of the actual shots other than him not smiling in the first one (not a natural smile, at least).

On another note...she looks like his daughter lol and the 2 boys kissing is definitely a bit weird...but if they're happy with the pictures then it really makes no difference what we think =P Always should be your primary concern.

+1
He looks like trouble!

I did brighten him up some. I think some of it is halo. I'll have to work on it. Some of it was also backlight, so he had a little "glow" in the SOOC. I'll check it out and see if I can rework it! Thanks!

K8, he is trouble! lol, but he's just stinkin' adorable!

LOL! :lmao:

I'm gonna tell her that, but not him! LOL

Yeah, I think the affectionate side of the boys would have been better captured in a hug. Maybe our schedules will mesh again and I can reshoot. :)

Nice work! I'm really liking #5 and #12. Looks like you're getting better on focusing--it's definitely great to see :)

I like the concept of number 1 but the dad is way to stiff not relaxed looking,
I really really like 12 and 5

Yeah, Dad's not a big picture taker, and I actually think he was saying something to one of the kids in that shot. I might try to change out his head with another shot.

Thanks for replying!

Nope nope... just went through and that's the best expression I have from dad. :lmao:

wow wee!
These are wonderful!
I bet they were super happy.
the boys getting ready to give open mouth french kiss kinda jebbs me out but....

Have you noticed your work is better when not shooting your own kids? It is the same for me, my kids really do NOT like the camera on them anymore and so they tend to wiggle and doge and duck.

These shots are crisp and focus is great.

Can I ask what you did differently since the last images? Did you change settings? or focus points? I'm asking because I still have a lot of work on my focus to be done as of yet and so to see this improvement might help me in some way as well.

they're not tack sharp, but they're much much closer. I didn't do anything different... Except read my understanding exposure book and try to find better light. With better light and more cooperative subjects the focus just got better.

Oh and I didn't have my 2 year old with me for a change there was less distraction/feeling the need to rush.

Yes, I like shooting people other than my kids. :)

Oh and it might have helped that I got CS3 and an action to size for web (cause I didn't know how to do that before and was just resizing or uploading the full size file).
