This Father's Day I made a trip down to my dad's to eat a nice dinner with him and my brother. Now, my while my bro and I were little, my dad was always the person behind the camera (as I'm sure it's the same for a lot of people), so there just aren't too many photos of him floating around in the family archives. Well, at least not many photos that aren't the cheesy Olan Mills-style posed photos. So I thought it would be nice to get some good portraits of him in a comfortable environment with two things he loves: guns and motorcycles.

I couldn't make the gun as pronounced that I would have liked, but I hope it's visible. :P

I love #1, followed closely by #3. I really like the comp and lighting in #1. It really makes your dad pop (pun fully intended). I think the rifle in #3 is actually plenty visible the way it is. It gives some context to the image without taking the attention away from the subject, your dad. I do wish there was a little more space to the right of the frame, through. It sorta feels like he's being squished up to the right side. Great images none the less, I'm sure he loved them!

I love all of them for the reason you stated -- memories of him and his hobbies: motorcycle and guns. I think it is very sweet...You will always remember this day for many more long years to come.and you have the photographs to show for it. Good son.

I can loosen up the frame in #3 a bit. I cropped in slightly because there was a lot of space over his head. Thanks for the input!
