My wife made us one of those weird matchy-matchy families today for church so we had to get a picture of it when we got home. Just did a quick setup in my basement: a sheet hanging in the background with white Christmas lights behind it; a blue/teal light aimed at the background from the left side. For us, I used a 20-degree grid for the hair-light, a bounced umbrella for the main light on the right, and a silver reflector on the left for fill (all with full CTO gels to make sure the Christmas lights looked white!). Shot with a D700 and 50mm 1.8D @ f5.6 1/80s.
Unfortunately, I can only do 2 groups with the D700 so the hair and main lights were a compromise in that the main was a little weak while the hair was a little strong since they were both on the same group! Either way, made for a decent picture!
