Hello!

These are quick snapshots. The conversion from color version to B&W here seems to have degraded the quality somewhat. Would appreciate hearing of your feedback.

"Somewhat" is a modest understatement... Did you take these with your camera phone?

Sorry, tsienni, I do hate to pass negative critique, ever, but to my - admittedly unskilled - opinion these do not quite qualify as real "portraits" ... in a portrait, there should be some more effort and care. I hope this does not come over to you as too harsh. I really try to convey this in the softest of words that come to me!

A lot of them seem out of focus? What camera did you take these with?

The camera is nothing special. Yes, you are right. They look blurred. Too quick into clicking when in a hurry to capture the human emotions. Aside from focus problem, are there other things needed to be taken care of? Thanks for your comment.

Well, do not go about taking people photos this quickly. You say you were very quick, trying to catch the emotion.

But in some instances it feels as if waiting for another fraction of a second would have done the people and their emotions more justice, such as in the second, where you caught the lady scratching her nose with her tongue in cheek (literally). It is so unflattering. She may have looked like this for this fraction in time when you took the photo, but if I were here, I would wish this would go into the bin forever.

The third and the last four have potential and with those it is a pity they have all these many technical issues.
