Now you can fight on your own schedule!

Fight club is a weekly contest where participants are given 1 hour to complete photos for 5 topics. This includes taking, editing, and posting. There is always 1 contest open for submissions and 1 contest open for voting.

The Rules:
  1. Only new photos are accepted.
  2. The contest lasts 1 hour. There is a 15 minute grace period in case of technical difficulties, but after that, you will be unable to submit.
  3. Play fair and have fun!
How it works:
  1. Once the thread goes up for a round each Monday, it's time to play.
  2. Follow the link in the post to the Fight Club page and submit your username to begin.
  3. Once you hit submit, the timer starts!
  4. When you complete the photos, upload them using the web form. If you did not take a photo for every category, leave the corresponding field blank.
  5. If your photos are successfully submitted, you should see thumbnail previews on the page. If you encounter an error, reload the page and try again. Note that it might take a couple minutes depending on the size of the photos and the speed of your internet connection. In addition, the upload time is NOT counted. As long as you click "Upload" before the time runs out, you are in.
  6. The next Monday (The contest may roll over at any point on Monday), I will post all of the photos at once, and open voting.
  7. Vote for your favorite photo in each category. Voting goes for the next week. (while the next round is open)

Video Instructions:

Voting:
A Sample vote is as follows:
Voter said:
1. [Topic] - [User]
2. [Topic] - [User]
3. [Topic] - [User]
4. How many posts? - LaFoto
5. Let's not talk about that - Fight Club

Ties:
In the case of a tie, the person who completed and submitted their photos in the shortest amount of time wins.

If you have any questions, I don't check this account very often, so either email joe[@]jwdphotography.com, or PM them to clarinetJWD.

Privacy Notice: I should probably say something about privacy, seeing as how email is involved. I have no interest in collecting your email addresses, or giving them to spammers or Nigerian princes. If it makes you feel better, you can get a fake account at gmail. I have 6 of them, myself.

Legal notice: Because I am hosting your images, I must put this legal blurb about it. By using the Fight Club website, you agree to allow Joe Dombrowski (clarinetJWD, joedombrowski.com) to host your images. I do not claim ownership of either the images or copyrights. If you wish to have the photos removed at some point, please let me know and I will comply asap. If this contest ends, all photos will be removed from my server. Use of the uploader is not required to play, though it is strongly recommended. If you wish to participate without the uploader, go through the first page as usual, and once your photos are complete, upload them and send the links to tpf.fight.club@gmail.com. Your username should be in the subject line.

The Fight Club email account uses a very secure password, and on the conclusion of this contest (hopefully a long, long time away, the account will be deleted.

Oh I am so totally in.

I hope I can remember to be here though... LOl

Sweet, seems like a good idea!

I have it on good authority that Fight Club is ON for Sunday!!! So make sure you book off 2 to 3 pm Eastern Standard Time (which is Greenwich Mean Time less 5 hours). The person running "Fight Club" usually gives everyone a reminder an hour or so ahead of time, but consider this even more advance notice for those who might otherwise forget.

Don't mean to be shadowing you Anty, but I want to help promote FC also.

One tip I found.... because I was constantly running late.... shoot JPEG and forget the edits, if you have time of course, that's another story..... but my slow connection (or is it a state of mind????) only allows enough time to shoot.. download, resize, upload and embed photos in a response.

Join in the fun folks.

Anty is running Fight Club this week. :lmao::lmao:

Another tip from me. Open everything up early....photoshop, photobuckethead(or whatever you use), or any other things you might need to get a jump on things. I try to spend half an hour shooting, and the rest editing and posting. I also write down the 5 catagories, and ask myself how I see those themes, and shoot the hardest first.
Hope to see everyone Sunday. :D

I'd do it but I shoot film so there's no way I could shoot, develop, scan and post in an hour lol

You can participate in Boxer turtle though. 2-3 days to get your picture in.

Just to make it easier for those not in North America, maybe we should use a more universal format for the time...?

Even "2PM EST (GMT -5)" could work.

If the times were only in GMT, I don't know how many Americans would know what time that was..., but I don't know how many Europeans know what "EST" is either...

Not sure how big of an issue that really is... But we seem to be getting more and more players, not all from North American.

A great idea. I have no idea what American EST is. I already deal with Australian EST plus the daylight savings version, your telling me there is another EST ?
