...What we're having.

Gonna be a little baby boy! :)

Should be early to mid October.

(Yes, it's that soon, and we are just now finding out...)

Thanks!

We have a girl, and girls are the norm in her family (about 50/50 in mine). Everyone was wondering what it was going to be, lol.

I was secretly hoping for a boy, but it doesn't really matter to me. This will be our last, so a girl and a boy - perfect. :)

Maybe one of them will be really tall. :lmao:

Now... Which lens do I "have to buy" because we are having a baby...?

(Everyone pulls that, right?)

Isn't it 12 kids to be a good American?

Congrats! :D

And...you need a new...um...70-200! Yeah! That's the one!

Thanks!

I think musicale is on to something...

The average American would have 2.5 kids, but to truely be above average you would need much more, lol! Oh well, I guess we'll just be another below average American family...

And...you need a new...um...70-200! Yeah! That's the one!

I have the f/4 (no IS). You really think I need to spring for the f/2.8 IS...?
Well..., if you say so.

Thinking of going wider (24-35mm - something in there)... Or a flash.

Speaking of camera gear and babies...

When our daughter was born, I got some awesome shots of the doctor performing the c-section. Those were all lost due to bad back-ups though.
Won't make that mistake again.

(It will be a C-section again - once you have one, that's pretty much all they'll do.)

Congrats I think a 24 70 2.8 would do nicely or a 14 24 2.8 for those special close shots. Or maybe both ;)
Troy

Thanks, Troy.

Hmm... Both? Not sure if I'll be able to convince her of the 'need' for that...
It's worth a shot though, lol.

Hey congrats man! I got the exact same setup at home - girl then boy! then the rest of the story went to lenses

Cheers!!!

Thanks camz!

So which lenses did you blame on the new babies, lol?

For me -

When our daughter was born, I got the 135mm f/2.8 (soft focus).
The Soft Focus wasn't important in the decision - I just wanted a 135 prime, and the L was way outside of my budget. It still functions normally - it's not soft focus all the time.

It was the 17-40mm F4 L for my 20D back in 04 I think it was. When I switched to a full frame I got rid of the 17-40 and got the 24-70 2.8 L which took alot of convincing and helping with laundry...LOL.

Any amount of grovelling is worth it for that lens though. Mmmm.
