Finally got a few minutes to try out my monolight kit CC

So i got some shots or my nephew. This was the best one. He kept wondering what my flashes were. I got 5 shots before he started playing with my gels.
I think hes been watching too many fashion shows with his mom because he kept making this face. Anyways im rambling c&c please. I think the background is too bright. I dont think I did too bad for not having any studio light experience

Which one do you guys like better. Also give your skills a try on it if you want

The back lighting is indeed too bright, it made the poor kids ears glow. You need to watch out for that. It's not flattering to your subject.

This is my fav of the two. Here's a tweak that selectively sharpens the hair and lifts the midtones slightly. There was a bit of white halo that is accentuated with sharpening, so I remove that as well.

*shrugs* I hate when hair has no volume and flattens the image. Perhaps his hair is much darker, I wouldn't know. Still, he needs more highlights in his hair to give the head volume.

Yeah I should have had a kicker. His hair is black with highlights of very dark brown.
