Just had to share with people who would appreciate.
I'm no pro guy, just like to take as good as picture as I can without breaking the bank. Started out with the D5000 and kit 18-55 and 55-200. Figured I'd start the upgrading with glass, as that seems like the smartest choice, next is a D7K! I already have the 12-24 f/4, 35 1.8, and the kit 18-55 and 55-200 along with a s-600, but just too many things to carry in my sling bag. I've been eyeing the 28-300 , (decent reviews by the pros and all of the user reviews were really positive), to replace the 2 kit lenses. However with a list of $1199, it was going to have to wait a bit. I keep an eye on Craig's List just to see what pops up, but there really hasn't been anything local.. until today.
Happen to have the day off, so perusing CL over breakfast I came across a listing only 5 minutes old. 28-300, still NEW IN BOX, only 30 minutes away.... $500!!!
Met the seller an hour later, turns out her ex husband had just bought it right before the divorce and she walked away with it. Didn't need or want, so she just wanted it out of the house. Sure enough, brand spankin new.. obviously never taken out of the wrapper. I always read about the steals people get, but I've never been close. Finally I was the first caller on one of these deals.
So far, pretty happy with it. I just dealt with a big move, so it's been a while since I've gotten the camera out. It's scary how quickly you forget how to use it:blushing:, but I'll be playing with this new bad boy a lot now.
Thanks for listening!!
