Finally made myself an avatar

Nothing fancy, of course. I just tried to put into a little picture the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, ISO and the metering system. Just symbolic. I've starting reading "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson, and may have gotten the inspiration from there

Anyway, what made you choose your avatar? I've seen some pretty awesome ones, some that I'm rather neutral to (but may have a meaning to the owner, ofc) and some plain weird ones. What made you choose it?

hmm I tend to flick between them - normally a currently top/favoured photo of mine these days -
However I've been keeping the hatted and scarfed husky for a good while now !

Cause -- well - its a husky in a hat and scarf - the only thing to top that is adding a pocketwatch (and I'm not risking that near husky paws)

Mine is an 8th century, Frisian sceat (penny). A paternal, ancestral point-in-time, long ago.

Mine is...what is mine now?

EDIT: Ah, that's what it is.

Mine is a view of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. I'm fascinated by the research they're doing there - using something so big to look at things so small, and in the process, maybe solve the mysteries of the Universe.

My other common one is a vent. Outside an elementary school! I still think it's the first photo I took that really defined my style as a photographer, so it's become my 'branding' if you will. It's in my signature - the blue thing under "jwdphotography"
