Finally ordered the D50...

I ordered my D50 today, and after much deliberation I got the Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens (import, $98 ) with it. I chose that lens because I didn't want to make a big initial investment in a lens before I could use the camera with any skill to speak of (I do have experience with 35mm SLR photography though), and this was the least expensive lens I could find with consistantly good reviews. Everything should arrive on Thursday, B&H will be closed tomorrow.

Was this a wise decision or should I have just gone with a kit?

I think the 18-55 lens that comes in the kit is a great value but you can always add it later.
