This area was ravaged by fires around 3 years before I was there.

Is this really about the fire scars or the sign? I would have just ditched the sign and made it more about the burnt timber, because the image is dominated by the sign IMHO.

Thanks for the reply.

The whole area was relatively barren and rather unphotogenic and I felt that the sign added an extra dimension to the image.
