My first attempt at HDR. Composition isn't so great, but thoughts on the HDR itself?

That looks like a scene that did not actually have a high dynamic range (HDR).

I dunno if it was a bright day I can see needing HDR to get the shadows in the trees.

Your sky looks a bit funky tonality not constant. Not much haloing though which is good.

I can see what looks like tone mapping in the trees but looks decent.

@Spacefuzz: Thank you for the comments. I think most of my problem is that it isn't a really high contrast scene... What causes inconsistent tone with the sky?

Looks to me like lens vignetting.

Have a look at the tree on the right; the sky is a lot lighter between the branches there. This is the classic haloing people get but its not too bad. If it wasn't that high contrast to begin with you wouldn't have pushed the images as far to reach a balance and it will tend to look more natural as the HDR isn't as necessary (if even at all).

Vegetation always seems to come out pretty bad with HDR (more from tonemapped really) in my opinion and it immediately jumped out as HDR to be because of those trees (main body centre and left). Others might not mind it though.
