Used my 50 1.8. Had never attempted reverse macro before and felt i didn't do too bad. Let me know what you all think.

Thanks Ron! I don't have a dedicated macro lens yet and there are a few I'd like to grab before a macro so this will have to do for now.

I suggest you take very good care not to get the rear element damaged, even by cleaning. Marks on a front element have little consequence but not so a rear one.

Good detail with the 50 for macro. Mind explaining reverse lens macro?

Detach the lens hold the lens so the front of the lens is facing the camera and you'll get a much closer shot. No autofocus since the lens is just being held to the body so you have to focus by moving closer or back from the subject.

Yeah, its fun looking at the world up close even without a regular macros lens. I'm sure you expected me to respond to this as I am obviously another one that uses that method. I think these are a step in the right direction. Its difficult with such shallow depth of field...

You can buy an adapter that screws onto the front of the lens and then it allows you to attach it to the camera. Go to ebay and search for reversing lens adapter. They are cheap...
