First attempt at studio portraits! i put it here to receive more comments

finally set up a makeshift studio today. my brother was the only model i had. these are the best i got from todays shoot.

i know on some of the photos (if not all) the features are a little soft. especially for a male. but my lighting was bad so i had to smooth it out a bit to reduce noise. so aside from that. what do you guys think??

if you did not mention it to be your brother, i would have taken that to be a lady...say a tough lady...

The problem is not of his features, but of the make up and the style adopted

His basic features are very much suitable for presenting him with tough looks

I liked the images otherwise

The glitter in his eyes in the third image is fine

In the fourth he has a fine calm composure

The black patches in his dress merges with the dark background and i think that could have been avoided

the poses are too staged and look uncomfortable. They look under exposed and the lighting unbalanced. That said it's a very good first attempt and in the right direction. Don't tell your brother he looks like a girl!

His skin looks wonky. There is also some lines around the outside of his face. In the first one it is really noticeable.

Over the top skin smoothing. Looks like you pushed the noise reduction in LR all the way over to the left and the slider fell off the edge!

This is not always a bad thing.. I for one have these absurdly long girl eyelashes. The kind women pay big bucks for!
Can't even wear sunglasses because of these things...:lmao:

It looks to me like you tried to make up for soft focus by SUPER over-sharpening... it makes his skin and his hair (especially his eyebrows) look really weird in number 1, for example.
