First attempts with a ND filter.

This was all experimental for me, but I started getting these results about 6 shots into the shoot. This is just a small section of the large falls near where I live.

You've got the silky water part down pat.

Now to make it look like water instead of sewage. The water is all brown in three of the shots.

I like the composition of #1 and 3. Not a bad start to ND filters.

Really don't think it looks like sewage. It isn't perfectly clear, but it just took a 12 foot drop from an upper falls that runs at about 2 million gal/min. This water is never perfectly clear. Maybe I should PS it. Thanks

I don't know about sewage, but I did catch the discoloration as well. The water in the 3rd shot looks the best to me. the 4th is my favorite our of the bunch. For some CC, might I recommend trying to pull out the colors of the moss on the rocks more? As well as darkening the blacks and upping the contrast.

Great shots and an awesome start though! What filter did you use for these?

I'd like to see more green and or blue in the photo. Great water works for a first timer.

The filter is just a cheaper adjustable one at about 20.00 and works like a polarizing filter. It cranks clear down to about 10 stops, but at that level it looses its eveness, so I had to back it back out to this level where it work pretty good. It was shooting with a dark center and lighter perimeter. I will invest in a better one after I know which one I would like. This is shot on f22 at 20 seconds in early morning sunlight. or rather f/10 @ 25 sec.

you must have an exif reader..... pretty handy, I actually didn't think I shot any of them below f13 or 15.
