I good black and white should have black AND white, not black and gray. You can try and boost the contrast in Photoshop, but none of these just says "wow" to me.
Don't try and shoot through a wire fence, it generally doesn't turn out.
The last one has some potential, at least as a location. Right now there's no interest, at least for me. I see an opportunity to get closer and use the water/ice and try getting some reflections. Something like this: Liquid Gold.

Though the sun wassn't as beautiful as your link picture. The lightning was realy realy bad.
I find that shooting B&W photos tend to turn out better when shooting in daylight...overcast doesn't lend a lot of contrast - at least to me. Just food for thought.
