The skin looks oversmoothed to me, and there are hints that a little too much of the liquify tool have been used.

Less is more when applying effects.

The two kids are cute as anything, but the boy on the left's hand grabbing his knee looks a little off. Was he nervous? Did you move the hand around in photoshop? Something's.. uncomfortable there, somehow.

The couple is lovely. With a bit less photoshop, this would be a charming photograph. I like the light, I like the girl, I like the way her neck lies along his shoulder line. He looks like someone I wouldn't much want to have a beer with, but that's about me, not your photograph

ya your right first time trying i think i did over do it a little. looking at the first photo i see what you mean about the boy's hand it does look a bit awkward thanks for the reply i'll keep trying

agreed. Light smoothing in the skin would have been perfect. You can also plainly see where you used the healing brush on the left hand side of the photo with the boys in it. What version of photoshop are you using?

i have Photoshop® Elements 10 and light room 4 i am not to good at it as you can tell i hope to get better in time were i used the healing brush there was a trash can there. thanks for the reply

Alright, this means you have the same options as CS5, just the basics. When you use your healing brush tool, Make sure you have a 5-6 pixel buffer on your selection, and always make sure your healing brush method is set to "medium" if you have it on "strict" or "very strict" it will put a fine line on your selection such as what you have above. The 5-6 pixel buffer in your selection will fade the brushing into a soft edge, making it look seamless.
