First Egret of the Spring

Finally saw an Egret close enough to get some pictures.

Wow... ok, I love a good BIF pic as much as the next guy and that one is fabulous, but that last shot - wow, that just steals the show. Great stuff Msnowy!

Good job Mike, I haven't been able to get close enough to even think about taking a picture of one yet. But now that the snakes are out the Egrets will be too busy to see me sneaking up on them

Always love that splash. Water at high speed with a bird is just magic, wonderful timing. Beautiful Egret shots Mike and well held on the whites, nice in flight as well. Excellent work there.

Here we have the White Heron which is an Egretta and the local name here is "Kotuku". Less than 100 in NZ and where I live, only the one We call him George of all names.

Anyway, all the best Michael, fine shots and what a beauty it is.

Thanks. Thats good news that the Herring have arrived. The Osprey will be feeding like crazy in Wareham.
