Just saying hello, this is my first post on this site.

Here's a quick shot that I took of my wife (avid snowboarder) playing around with one of my Einstein units and a silver umbrella. Got lucky with the dramatic skies.

Tilt and Desaturation... don't care for it personally. Too selective colorish for me. That and the lighting is very harsh... shadows on her face are very pronounced.

Have to agree with Charlie here; I'm almost NEVER a fan of heavy desaturation/selective colour, but at least you've left the focus on the proper part of the image. As for the tilt, I think it can work well in snow/skate board shots, but this isn't really the one. If you had her 'in action', I think it would work better.

I have snapshots of my son in studio on seamless when he was 5 ..He is 28 now ...yes snapshot ^^^^^^ LOL Charlie

hahaha... I just don't call lugging that kind of gear up a mountain necessary for a snapshot. But ok.. maybe this one was a candid snapshot after / before the main shoot.... or just fooling around...

I normally dislike selective coloration but in this scene I don't think it's that bad, because I'd expect the background (a snow covered mountain) to be black and white already.

Background is underexposed and therefore lifeless.
Next time ask the model to do the tilt, (giving the pose more life), and then you won't have to tilt the entire frame.
Next time ask the model to push up the goggles so we can see her eyes.

Thanks for your feedback, I should have stated that this was taken about 15 minutes before sunset and the sun was setting behind the mountains behind my wife, so where she was standing it was getting dark.

I like it! I think this looks like a good 2 page spread for a 2 page advertisement. The horizon on this photo to me looks like a mountain. I like the lighting though a little focused and spotlight, but overall I think a good job for editorial IMO.
