First go at people

So I've had my D50 for a week now. This is my first go at shooting those um.. what do you call them? People?

the first shot is a pretty good, but if you could some how photoshop that mole with hair growing out of it.... as it is very destracting... i know the attention is meant to be on his eyes but i cant help but keep getting drawn to that hairy mole..... now its beginning to freak me out

I would tone down the sharpening on the eyes (first pic) a little. I love sharp eyes, but they're a bit much

in comparison to the rest of the picture, it may be a bit much, maybe for another version of the pic try cropping out just the eyes in a long panorama, or try and add interest to the other parts of the face too?
