First OCF - 3rd Party Manual vs Canon - Help

I am interested in picking up a 430ex or a lp160. but dont really know the benefits/downfalls of the full manual settings on the lp160 vs the canon. can someone clue me in

full manual is full manual. If you want to use it on camera though, the TTL features of the Canon would be nice.
