First photo post - City Scape

Well, I like the colors for sure. I am not sure if I see blur in the lighted trees or not, but it doesn't ruin the image completely. Maybe the slow shutter speed was at fault there.

Nonetheless, you got it posted that is a good start.

I think there is some blur in the lighted trees. This was a "walkaround" shoot with some others. Some of the time I had a tripod, most of the time I was shooting hand-held. As you said, at least I'm "in the game" now. Ready to get better.

I like the motive - is this some kind of lightening installation?
However I would rather focus on showing composition including only balls and ground. Otherwise if You want to show these balls in less abstract way I would consider introducing more "City scape" part including especially buildings and their window-lightening (maybe out of focus as a contrast for first plan lightening balls?).
Architectural photography tip - try to find composition where buildings facades are perpendicular to the ground (not always but most of the times it looks better in such compositions).

I wait for another tries with this motive - it has potential! Good luck!

Yes, it is a lighting installation at a downtown STL park. It's kind of a sculpture park type of deal, just west of the Gateway Arch (visible in the background). One of my goals was to include the Arch in the image, but perhaps it's not the best idea to attempt in a photo like this.

I wouldn't say that - it has to be more precise its all.
Have You chance to take another try? Or it is rather timely/thematic event/installation and now its gone?
If not - I recommend coming back and try because it has great potential for some abstract city scape photography.
