1- much quicker shutter speed is needed, also looks soft.
2- centered and also a tad soft.

Neither are too interesting, so maybe thats why you arent getting so many replies..

This is one of my first attempts of taking pictures of people.

Then why is the open door in the photo? In all seriousness find the vibe and go with it...If it's a shot to promote the facility then keep it generalized, but if you are trying to capture an interesting subject then find that one drop (bead) of sweat or face of anguish on the downbeat kick.

Not sure about Black and White either for this kind of pic? Maybe just me! also what settings did you use to shoot these... what are you trying to show here.

b&w would work fine but I think you need to clean up your shot, play with some better settings, and try some other angles/heights/positions.

Not necessarily. If he's trying to convey movement in the shot then using a slow shutter speed will give you motion blur and that gives you a sense that the people are moving about.

Taaron: I think the second shot would have worked better if you filled more of the frame with the subject and didn't have so much empty space above her head.

Same with the first shot...too much space above their heads. Try cropping the picture tighter to the people exercising.

Hey everyone thanx for the advise.... I just recently purchased the camera at that point and I was still getting to know how to use the camera..... But I thought the second Pic turned out a bit better that i thought it would..... but I do see a lot of harsh shades and its a bit underexposed for B&W.
Can you guys recomend some Ideas of how to take pictures of people, especially active people

Just keep shooting and pay attention to the camera settings.
