Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hey all,
I just got my Nikon D3100 on Monday, but with work and all I haven't had a chance to actually examine my pictures until today. I chose a picture sort of at random and loaded it up for editing. I didn't do all that much to it, just bumped up to color temperature a bit and did a little sharpening. I think it looks pretty good, but I will be the first to admit that my eye is very untrained, so there's probably loads wrong with it. Just go easy, it's my first day.

Thanks,
AJ

Welcome to the obsession! As long as you like the image, there's nothing wrong for it. All pictures could be improved, but yours is a good start. Next time, you might want to consider composing the shot sot hat your looking at his (her?) face rather that along the body.

When shooting animals always make sure the eyes are the sharpest focus. It appears in this photo the focus is sharpest on the front paw area. Sharp eyes give your subject a lot of life and are always a major focal point.

Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate them. It all sounds so simple when reading about it, but putting it into practice is more difficult than it seems.

I also noticed the focus on the paw. This is a mistake I've made many times, especially when I was letting the camera choose the focus point. Once I choose my focus point, things seemed to make sense a bit more.

I totally agree, it's easy when you read about it, and when I am composing I tend to overlook the obvious, as I'm lost in the settings.

Cool dog!
