First Picture

Just started trying to learn what I can about taking and processing decent pictures.
This is my first picture on here and I'm looking for thoughts on what I might be doing right or wrong.

Not a horrible composition, rule of thirds is definitely something you'll be using a lot in the future.

Processing isn't too bad either, maybe a little bit brighter on the yellows/reds and darker on the greens to really bring out the child.

I would also try using a higher aperture to blur out the background a little bit as it is somewhat distracting in the sense that there is nothing interesting to look at in it.
