Very nice start! Glad to see you got a DSLR, and thats a good arsenal of lenses to start out with! These are good solid shots, especially #4 & #5. I do agree that the shot of your car looks better with the whole car in frame in this instance, but don't let the fear of "cutting your subject in half" stop you from experimenting with the cool perspectives & crops you were doing in your iPhone photo thread...that creativity is going to keep your work interesting so don't get too involved with "following the rules" on everything. In my opinion relation to the edge is an important part of a composition & having your subject bleed off can really enhance the shot a lot of the time.

4, 5, and 6 are my favorites.

The composition of 4 is nice and has a lovely touch of bokeh going on.

I dig the color of the sky in the last two. I prefer 5 over 6.

BTW, nice GTI. I drive an '03 myself!

Also the shadow side of the car is shaded. Additional lighting may have been nice to make the car pop if its the subject
