Two and Three for me to very nice when taking a pic of any animal get down to there level rather than looking down on them.

Great start getting back into photography. Here's a few rank amateur opinions:

check and see why it isn't sharp. what was your shutter speed and focus point? From the amount of motion blur in her tail it may just be a case of shutter speed too slow.

Is GREAT colors! but I think the shot would be of the whole building including the missing top left corner.
Or, I think a closer detail shot, maybe that one window with the graffiti flowers on both sides.

Cool shot of the advertising. A more interesting shot for me would use the woman standing in front of the advertising as the subject

No problem! Also in #1 think about if you had rotated to vertical. Probably could have all the doggy and less unneeded grass. These are the type of tips that have helped me.

Welcome, I'm a sucker for dogs. So a couple comments on the first one. As mentioned above getting down to their level makes for a more interesting shot. Sane thing applies to kids. Second simplify the shot. Grass, sidewalk, etc., adds little and actually detracts from the image. Third highlight the positive. The dog has great eyes, color, but the rest of the body, because of DOF and posture is OOF. Here's your shot with a different crop and a little work on the eyes and background.

Super cute pup! Like Smoke mentioned get down to their level and watch the backgrounds. The thing I like about your photo is that the pup has catch lights in the eyes. With a long nose you may need to change to the aperture to get more in focus. I run into that problem with my 3 pups.

#2 & 3. Get closer. Ask yourself, what is it that draws you to the subject, focus on that. Example in #2, the scaffold doesn't add much to the pic so I'd have walked up to the love graffiti part and composed the love, part of window, and turquoise siding inside the frame, probably portrait oriented. #3, I would have got close and shot the girl with the words it pours in the frame, probably not even included the whole pic of the girl, just enough to let the viewer know, landscape oriented
