C&C per req:

1. Interesting expression in an Alfred Hitchcock sort of way, and good mono conversion. I would crop a good chunk of the empty space image right away.

2. This seems like nothing more than a snapshot. You need to get your flash off of the camera for portrait work.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

Cute, but ask yourself if a water mark was really needed here?

depending what you are going for i would have taken the ?scar? off her cheek and the 2nd the skin tone is too red

The watermark comment is probablly along the lines of "do you think someone would try to claim these photo's as their own and market them".

People seem to focus on having a watermark if your pictures aren't professional quality. Why? I don't know. I can see comments about a watermark being distracting to an image, but having one is no big deal. But as said, the comment is along the lines of "these pictures are no where good enough for anyone to want to take". But I find watermarking images, if this is the route you chose, is best done via a software that does it on export. But know that if you post something on the web, it can be stolen, watermarks can be removed.

On to the images...
#1 has nice focus on the eyes. I don't like that bit of couch or the little curl of her hair in the back. Somewhat distracting. The expression is fun and different, and makes me wonder what she is reacting to. This could of made a nice shot with her looking straight at the camera as well. A bit of skin softening could help, although she means to be freckly, and you may not want to remove that from the image as it's part of her.

The black and white conversion is fine, although I prefer a little less of a dark grey feel and more differentiation between blacks and whites.

#2 not much to say with this one. Looks like something a photographer would take as a test shot. the bright spots on her face and the shadow behind her make the image scream on camera flash. Flash is fine, but learn how to use it so that it doesnt show you are using it. The extra elements in the background serve no real purpose. She is a beautiful girl, you can probably do so much more with your compositions with a little thought and practice

bigtwinky thanx for your imput. i am VERY new to photography, still trying to learn how to use my camera/ lightroom. there was no flash used one these shots just a homemade soft box that i probably should have set up a little bit futher away. anyways these shots wernt a portrate session or anyhting it was just me snapping off a couple shots while she watched tv haha.

Then let's see what you can do with an actual portrait session :)
