Looks like a possibly good action shot but hard to tell as the subject is so small. This baby needs to be cropped as far as you can get away with.

I'd have to agree, the action in the image is diminished because of the scope of the rest of the scene overpowering it.

Having said that, I actually really like it anyway. Very sharp image, good composition, nice colors, seem to have caught the skater clearly, and shot at a good time of day. I think taking a different perspective and downplaying the action may actually work here.
